NSPCC Order in Court: policy calls

The Order in Court policy calls will be outlined in three sections. Specifically, we are calling for:

  • Children to be able to give their evidence from a remote site; currently over 99 per cent of children still have to go to court to give their evidence
  • All judges and lawyers who take on child sexual abuse cases should have specialist training
  • Young witnesses should have access to a Registered Intermediary – a trained communications expert – to help them understand what is happening with the police and court whenever necessary

Over the coming months we’ll keep updating each section – please do come back for more info.
